Riding together

Cycling together, socialising, having fun. This is the basis of our philosophy and so we have developed great formats in the past weeks and experienced what this can look like. Find out more about the Pushbikers Social Rides and events with partners here.

Pushbikers Community

It's never just
one ride

The connection is our way. The connection is our path. Pushbikers is about performance and success (with our professional team at the top), but equally about an active life and the passion for cycling par excellence. We want to inspire as many people as possible for cycling, to pass on our motivation. And that works especially well when people meet each other, when they cycle together instead of against each other. In June, the Pushbikers had two wonderful events in addition to the ongoing racing, which emphasise precisely cycling together. And we were able to keep one evening free each week to get on our bikes with friends in our area. Here we tell you about it.

Tour Laureus
Sport for Good

For the second time this year, we were part of a three-day cycling event for a good cause: the Tour Laureus Sport for Good. Fifty amateur cyclists pedalled together with former and active professional athletes to support the Laureus Foundation’s programmes, which aim to give disadvantaged children and young people a perspective in life through the power of sport.

So the motto is: “What’s Paris-Roubaix or Liège-Bastogne-Liège when you can ride in the Tour Laureus Sport for Good?”

Our contribution to the Laureus Tour starts on Friday afternoon in the immediate vicinity of Neuschwanstein Castle. We arrive with our Mercedes Benz Team Oldtimer, on the roof rack: rental bikes for some of the participants and one Wiawis bike each for team boss Christian Grasmann, our sprinter Filippo Fortin and workshop manager Waldemar Wilhelm. All three will be there the next day, but first it’s time for bike fitting! Bike fitting! Waldemar and Christian will adjust the Wiawis rental bikes to their riders for one day – pedals, stem, saddle, everything should fit well for tomorrow’s ride. And even those who arrive with their own racing bike can now have it checked and adjusted.

After dinner together and a discussion of the route ahead: just under 90 km with 950 metres of altitude difference, from Schwangau via Weißenbach am Lech, via Nesselwängle past the Haldensee, through the Seealpe nature reserve and back via Pfronten, past the Hopfensee and Forggensee to Hohenschwangau.

On Saturday, after the starting signal, it’s “escape or broom wagon”.

The realization: everyone wins. Thank you, Laureus, for this weekend together with a wide variety of people who came together through cycling and a charitable goal.

Pari Souplesse
Ride

Schwalbe and Paul Ripke have joined forces to inspire a new kind of racing: LOOK PRO, GO SLOW. This is how the Souplesse Rides were born, which take place several times a year at different locations and for which every cycling enthusiast can register. Paul Ripke explains the motto as follows: “Influenced by the people next to you, you quickly lose sight of the essentials on the bike – enjoying the ride and stopping now and then to take a photo or have a beer or two after the ride. That’s my idea of road cycling. Together instead of against each other.”

We look forward to seeing you! All you need is a racing bike and off you go! In advance, we had worked out a leisurely loop that drew on our experience from Ride Our Routes and included the option for a break with a view at Lake Tegernsee. 58 kilometers with 487 meters of altitude from Holzkirchen to Gmund and back via Weyarn. But before it started it was first: Bike inspection and service by the Schwalbe crew, plus coffee and snacks. The 40 participants were then divided into two groups, met again at Lake Tegernsee, and together we ended the NAchmittag at the Kugelblitz Grill and with cold drinks in a deck chair.

Pushbikers &
Friends Ride

For some time now, we have reintroduced our regular road bike rides on Thursday evenings. We meet at the Pushbikers Shop and then set off together – the routes are always different, can also be adapted to the respective participants and are on average around 50 km. Here and there we also build in a break, combined with the opportunity to meet people from our network. This happened, for example, on a beautiful summer evening in June, when we were able to visit the Kreativwerk in Greiling. Small snacks, coffee, drinks and good conversations in the midst of typical Bavarian farmhouses – it turned out to be a really nice evening that brought different people together over the common passion of racing bikes. And what happens when team boss Grasmann sets off with a group from the Maloja Flagship Store in Schwabing while a road bike group sets off at the Pushbikers Shop at the same time? They didn’t meet on the way shortly before Holzkirchen as planned – but it turned out to be a long evening with more than 50 people from Munich and the Oberland, with Kugelblitz barbecues and Sappl beer, watermelon and conversations until it was long after dark.

And even if we don’t take a break, we still invite our participants to the Pushbikers Shop after the Thursday Ride – with drinks and, if the weather is good, sometimes with a barbecue.
