Brave, competitive minded, focused. Our youngest team rider in 2023 comes from a cycling family, both parents competed for Denmark in the Olympics, and Matias also has a number of titles and achievements to his name. He was U23 European champion in the Omnium, European champion in the team pursuit on the track and Danish champion in the team pursuit together with Lasse Norman Hansen, as well as U23 national champion in the time trial and stage winner in the Flanders Tomorrow Tour 2022. “Track cycling has taught me to think about the smallest details that can make a huge difference when they add up. On the track you also have to think fast and be one step ahead of your rivals – that’s also important in lead-outs and sprints on the road.” On the track Matias has his sights set on the World Championships in the coming years, currently he wants to make the most of his career on the road and see where it takes him. We are looking forward to racing with him in his home country of Denmark and to seeing him race in the six-day races in the winter. And maybe he will show us his favourite training route – the “Dronningmølle” north of Copenhagen.
