What does cycling mean to you?

Passion. It’s just a lot of fun. You get to know lots of people and see lots of new places and regions. Impressions like that last a lifetime.

Greatest sporting successes

10th place, Memorial Rik van Steenbergen UCI 1.1; 10th place individual time trial, German Championships 2019;
3rd place, 2nd stage Baltyk-Karkonosze Tour UCI 2.2; Course Cycliste de Solidarnosc UCI 2.2, 8th place in the GC and victory in the youth classification.

What is your personal season highlight in 2021?

If there is a chance that we can ride the Tour of Germany as a team, that would be my absolute highlight. To be able to ride a tour with world-class teams in our own country would be really great.

Do you prefer to train alone or in a group?

It varies. There are sessions that I prefer to ride alone so that I can really concentrate on training. But otherwise group rides. After all, it’s a team sport.

Do you have a personal race ritual?

No, not really. I try to stay relaxed and not put myself under pressure. I like to listen to music beforehand, that helps me relax and stay cool.

What have you learned for life from competitive sport?

That you can achieve a lot with a lot of work, ambition and willpower. But discipline, a sense of responsibility and decency are also things I’ve learned from it.
