How and when did you get into cycling?

In 2011, when I was supposed to accompany my little brother to the club training of BikeSportBühne Bayreuth because he didn’t want to go alone. Somehow I got stuck in, competed, made it into the Bavarian squad and at some point also into the national squad.

Who or what particularly motivated you to pursue a career in cycling?

It wasn’t any individual person, but the whole environment that cycling brings with it, in which I felt super comfortable from the very beginning and the fact that I really enjoy the sport. That, combined with a few successes, motivated me to pursue a career in cycling.

What are your goals for the season?

Settle in well with the elite and the new team, top 5 at the German Championships XCO & title defence in XCE.

Do you have a personal race ritual?

If at all possible: (dark) chocolate ice cream the night before.

Greatest sporting successes

Two-time German champion XCE Elite (2018,2019), German runner-up XCO U23 (2020).
